Credentials
Dr. Pribitkin is a full professor at Thomas Jefferson University. He has been certified by two specialty boards and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, American Rhinologic Society, Triological Society and the American College of Surgeons. He received his undergraduate degree from the Johns Hopkins University from which he graduated with general and departmental honors in 1982. He completed his medical doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1986 and trained as a resident in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania from 1986 through 1991. He served as a fellow in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Stanford University Medical Center from 1991 to 1992, after which he was recruited to the faculty of Thomas Jefferson University where he serves as the Acadmic Vice-Chairman of the Deparment of Otolaryngology and directs the Otolaryngology Residency Training Program.

Publications
Dr. Pribitkin has lectured and published widely on many topics in facial plastic and Reconstructive surgery. He is a expert on the applications of extracellular matrices in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and has spoken nationally and internationally on the repair of Nasal Septal Perforations using these biomaterials. Dr, Pribitkin introduced BoTox therapy to Philadelphia in 1991 and has published on "Patient selection in the treatment of glabellar wrinkles with Botulinum Toxin Type A injection." He was a pioneer in laser skin resurfacing and taught a course entitled "Carbon Dioxide Laser Skin Resurfacing: Achieving consistently superior results" at the AAO-H&NS annual meeting. His current interests lie in the development of endoscopic techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck cancer and in the refinement of techniques for minimally invasive video-assisted thyroid surgery [MIVAT]. Dr. Pribitkin also continues to work on promoting awareness of alternative and complementary medicines in otolaryngology and on smell and taste research. Dr. Pribitkin was recently awarded the Dean's Citation for significant contributions to the advancement of education at Thomas Jefferson University.

Community Service
Domestic violence is a serious health and social issue that affects all of us. Over five million women a year are affected by domestic violence in the United States; over one million victims require medical treatment. Thirty one percent of women murdered in 1990 were killed by husbands or boyfriends. Seventy-five percent of women who are in an abusive relationship receive battering to their face and head area. Dr. Pribitkin is proud to have served as president of the AAFPRS subcommittee on domestic violence. The AAFPRS National Domestic Violence Project provides free Reconstructive surgery to survivors of domestic violence. Dr. Pribitkin has often worked with overseas agencies to provide specialized medical care to patients who can not receive such care in their home countries. Most recently, Dr. P treated a growth in the windpipe of an infant from Lithuania who had developed difficulty breathing. Personal information
Dr. Pribitkin was born on May 14, 1960 in Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil. At the age of two, his family moved to Flushing, New York, where he lived until 1969. His father then moved the family to Lancaster, Pennsylvania where Dr. P attended Hempfield High School. Dr. P's educational background is described under credentials.

Dr. Pribitkin and Yvette Marquez were wed on January 17, 1986. Yvette earned her PhD in Spanish literature and teaches at Temple Universty. On November 25, 1997, they were blessed with the birth of a lovely daughter, Yvette-Teresa. On April 25, 2000, they were blessed with the birth of their son, Edik.  Dr. Pribitkin naturally spends most of his free time with his family, but can also sometimes be sighted in his garden, on running trails and on the basketball and tennis courts. Dr. P loves to travel and speaks Russian, Spanish, German and Portuguese. He delights in good books and good company.

Tesa "Brighteyes" is an avid gymnast and reader with a gift for making those around her smile.

Edik "Braveheart" is a purple belt in Tae Kwon Do, a basketball wizard and is blessed with a marvelous memory.
